“I was a donor before I ever started working here. I had just moved to Oahu from Kauai when Blood Bank of Hawaii called me to donate. I had never given blood at this location before so I came to the Young Street Donor Center and was impressed by the atmosphere and staff. I was also looking for a new job at the time, so I applied to be a part of something I really believed in.

This work is very meaningful and does so much good. My small part of all of this is calling people and scheduling appointments, as well as educating donors and potential donors about the process. The need for blood never stops. Every day I have a new chance to leave a lasting impact on the lives of Hawaii’s patients by hopefully recruiting a new donor. And the donors themselves are heroes that I am proud to connect with on a daily basis.”
